Adaware Privacy Suite
Product design, UX/UI modernization, and performance marketing optimization for a Windows privacy and security suite.
Overview
Adaware Privacy Suite is a Windows application focused on protecting user data through tools such as site tracking prevention, camera and mic controls, VPN, ad blocking, and email breach monitoring. The software is distributed through global campaigns reaching millions of installs each month.
I’ve worked extensively on Adaware’s UX/UI redesign and product modernization while transforming the app’s interface into a cleaner, more intuitive experience while improving usability for both technical and non-technical users. My involvement extends beyond product design: I’ve also built and optimized dozens of performance-driven marketing landing pages, each designed with years of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) expertise, A/B testing, and behavioral tracking strategy.
Challenge
The previous Adaware interface lacked a cohesive design system and clear visual hierarchy, making navigation and feature discovery difficult for users. Additionally, non-admin installations limited access to core features, requiring UX solutions that could gracefully communicate permissions without breaking flow.
On the marketing side, the company needed scalable, fast-loading landing pages that could adapt to multiple products, languages, and campaigns while enabling accurate data tracking, attribution, and A/B testing across global traffic sources.
Process
- Research & Heuristics: Conducted in-depth analysis of existing UI patterns, task flows, and user friction points within the desktop app and installer experience.
- UX/UI Redesign: Created a new interface architecture using Figma with improved visual hierarchy, clearer feedback states, and adaptive layouts for different permission levels.
- Design System: Defined a unified visual language across all modules, from “Sites Monitored” and “Email Breach Scanner” to “VPN” and “Ad Blocker”, ensuring consistency, scalability, and development alignment.
- Landing Page Optimization: Designed and coded over 50+ high-converting marketing pages in HTML, PHP, and JavaScript, each built for experimentation and data collection. Developed custom tracking integrations and event funnels to measure user engagement and conversion efficiency.
- A/B Testing & CRO: Planned and executed tests across key funnel points - CTA placement, messaging, visual hierarchy, and user trust elements - leveraging data insights to refine and scale winning variations.
- Tracking & Analytics: Implemented advanced tracking frameworks and tagging systems, integrating with multiple analytics platforms for campaign attribution and behavioral insight.
Outcome & Learnings
The redesigned Adaware interface has made the software more approachable, responsive, and consistent, reducing cognitive load for everyday users while giving the product a more modern, trustworthy aesthetic. Internally, the design system improved communication between product, design, and engineering teams, speeding up iteration and feature rollout.
On the marketing side, my landing page framework continues to drive measurable growth, with incremental conversion gains through ongoing experimentation. The combination of UX design, technical development, and advanced tracking knowledge has helped align design outcomes with real business impact — bridging creativity, performance, and data-driven decision making.
